I am excited to share my pattern for a hooded blanket with you - a creation that is both stylish and functional. There's just something about wrapping up in an oversized blanket that screams comfort. And when you add a hood, it takes that warmth and comfort to a whole new level.

Oversized Hooded Blanket

To make an Oversized Hooded Blanket I used:

 

  • 42oz (6 skeins) of Red Heart Super Saver in buff
  • 5.5 inch hook
  • Yarn needle

Note: To adjust the size and make it bigger or smaller increase of decrease the number of rows before starting the decrease rows. My blanket measures 72" x72". 

Body of blanket

Row 1: chain 6. Dc in fourth chain from book and in next 2 ch. Chain 6. Turn. 

Row 2: Dc in fourth ch and next 2 ch. Slst into ch4 sp in row 1. Ch3, 3dc.in same sp. Ch 6. Turn

Row 3: Dc in fourth ch and next 2ch. Slst into ch3 sp. 3dc in same sp. slst into next ch3 sp, 3dc in same ch sp. Ch6. Turn

Row 4: Dc in fourth chain and next 2ch. Slst into ch3 sp, 3DC in same sp. Slst into ch3 sp, 3dc in same so Slst in ch3 sp. 3dc in same sp. Ch6. Turn.

Rows 5-55: Repeat row 4 ending with a ch6 at the end of each row. 

Fasten off yarn.

 

Hat: 

Repeat rows 1-25 from body.

Fasten off yarn.

Use yarn needle to attach hat to corner of blanket. 

Fasten off yarn. 

 

Edging: 

Row 1: Attach yarn between any square. Ch3, sc in sp between blocks. Repeat all the way around. 2sc ch2 2sc in each corner.

Rows 2-4: Ch.1, sc in each stitch arou
